Enrollment procedures

Enrollment procedures and documents to be prepared are different depending if you are a EU citizen or a non-EU citizen.

Admission requirements for International Students (EUand non-EU students):

  • students having a High SchoolDiploma attained after a total period of 12 years of Education may apply to first cycle (bachelors) and long single cycle degree programs
  • students having a Bachelor Diploma (atleast 3 years of University education or 180 ECTS for EU citizens)may apply to second cycle (master) programs
  • students having a Master Diploma (at least 2 years of University graduate education or 300 ECTS as a sum of first and second cycle studiesfor EU citizens) may apply to third cycle (PhD Programs)

Students willing to apply to such programs firsthaveto register online to the Student Office online service (see "New students").

Then, using the assigned credentials, they are required to fill in the online application.

At the end of the online application procedure a payment form for the enrollment fee will be automatically generated; print it and pay it in any Italian bank.

To finalize your enrollment you’ll have tosubmitthe following documents to the Students Office:

  1. High School Diploma (in original or as a legalized Copy)
  2. Any document declaring the attainment of such qualification after a total period of 12 years of school education (ENIC-NARIC declaration, declaration of the Ministry of Education or the Dichiarazione di Valore - Declaration of Value issued by the Italian embassy)
  3. Certification of admission to Higher Education studies (only if mandatory in your country).

Programmed access First Cycle Degreeand Long Single Cycle Master Degree Programs(Medicine, Dentistryand Healthcare professions)

Medicine, Dentistry andHealthcare professions areprogrammes with limited enrolment through anadmission test, with specific deadlines and procedures established yearly by the, generally publishedby the end of February.

Students willing to apply to such programs first haveto:

If positively assessed, they will have to register online and follow the instructions mentioned above and finalize their enrollment by submitting the above-mentioned documents to the Students Office.

Second Cycle Degree Courses (Masters)

Students willing to apply to such programs first haveto contact the Program Coordinators for a qualification assessment: please send a CV European Format, copy of ID/Passport, Transcript of Records of your Bachelor Degree,Motivation letter and English certificate to:

If positively assessed, students will have to register online and follow the instructions mentioned above and finalize their enrollment by submitting to the Students Office:

  1. Diploma Supplement in the European format
  2. Admission Letter.

Third Cycle Degree Courses(Ph.Ds)

Students willing to apply to such programs firsthavetoregister online to the Student Office online service (see "New students").

Then, using the assigned credentials, they are required to fill in the online application for the participation to the selections published in a specific call following the instructions available at the Ph.D. - Doctoral programs webpage.

All international candidates from non-EU countries who wish to apply for a Bachelor's Degree or a Single-Cycle Degree must start their application procedure through . For Master's Degrees, a pre-assessment of records before the pre-enrolment on the portal is highly suggested. Students can find the proper e-mail address in the “FOR INFORMATION” section on the course webpage.

All prospective studentsshall apply for a Visa for study reasons. The Visa will be issued by Italian Consulates Embassies or Institutes of Italian Culture in your Country, after the admission to the University programsthat will be notified them through the Universitaly System.

After having obtained a visa for study reasons, international candidates may then apply following the same procedures described in the EU Citizens paragraph

Once in Italy, by 8 days from your arrival, you will have to apply for a residence permit, in order to do this:

  • Go to a post office and collect the “residence permit Kit” fill in the form 1 with your data and attach:
  1. A full copy of your passport (even the blank pages)
  2. The admission letter or a certified copy of it
  3. A copy of a Health insurance valid in Italy (private or public, national or international as far as it is valid for at least three months in Italy)
  • Put all documents in the Kit envelope and submit it to a post office
  • Pay the due revenues, collect the application receipt and keep it always with your ID, collect the notification for an appointment at the immigration section of the police offices
  • Go to the immigration section of the police offices in the appointment date and follow their instructions
  • Wait for the notification of your residence permit is ready

Please note that the EU and Italian laws consider PhD candidates as third cycle students, therefore successfully selected international PhD candidates shall apply for a Visa for study reasons. In order to obtain it, ask the PhD School to send you an admission letter and apply for a Study Visa, according to the Italian Embassy/Consulate in your Country rules, attaching all the additional documents needed.

Students can enrol for Master's Degrees on the Student Office online service from the 10th of July 2024 to the 31st of October 2024.The steps are the following:

  1. Registration (account creation online guide)
  2. Assessment test application
  3. Enrolment

Students can enrol for Bachelor's Degrees on the Studen Office online service from the 10th of July 2024 to the 30th of September 2024 with no additional fees. From the 1st of October 2024 to the 29th of November 2024 students can enrol by paying an additional fee. The 29th of November deadline cannot be extended under any circumstances. The steps are the following:

Tuition fees

In order to finalize the enrollment, students are required to pay a registration fee of 156 euros to be paid by September 30th. The tutition fees, in two installments in December and May,arecalculated depending on the country of origin andthe chosen programme.

The tuition fee consists of two parts:

  • a Registration fee € 156,00
  • a Tuition fee

The tuition fee has to be paid in two steps:

  • Deposit by December
  • Balance by May.

Once enrolled, you will receive the university badge “Carta Ateneo Più”, a magnetic card with your photo allowing you to use the university services. You will be asked to show it for the access to exam sessions, to enter to study rooms and libraries. “Carta Ateneo Più” is the card that allows you to benefit from the catering service, if you are entitled to it. You may also require to activate for free its banking features with the Banca Popolare di Sondrio: you will be allowed to use it as a prepaid rechargeable contactless card, with a dedicated IBAN code and the home banking devices; you will benefit of fast and secure electronic payments from the University such as tax refund, fellowships, Erasmus fellowships.
